We talked about everything under the sun, but exercise, food and weight loss, was good fun. Also got to spend time with cousins, aunt,

Strawberry Srikhand

Shrikhand is a main dessert in Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisine. It is mostly on the menu at festivals and Marathi weddings and tastes best when served with hot puris. {It was on the menu at my wedding too :)}

We generally buy ready made Shrikhand, especially when having guests over and add in some fruits and dry fruits to make it richer. However, the store bought ones are very thick, creamy

Healthy Masala Toast

I have cut down on bread quiet a bit since I started to lose weight, however I do indulge in it once in a while. The only problem is that bread doesn't fill me up easily, unless I eat it with egg. I need to eat at least 4-5 slices to feel full and that is ~250 calories, that too without the butter/cheese/jam. So when my Mother in law made these Masala toasts, I thought these were a perfect way

I was home most of last week to tend to my sick daughter. She was down with a flu and stomach infection. She is much better now and I am back in office.

I was quiet regular with my morning runs and exercise last week and the calorie intake was good too. In spite of this the scale hasn’t moved. My guess is that it’s because of a change in my routine. I drink less water when I am at home. Also,

Vacation time

My daughters play school started vacation long back in April itself, but from last week her day care has also closed for 2 weeks. Initially we had planned for taking a vacation somewhere during this time, but due to the hubs work commitments that did not happen.

However we had visitors. The hubs aunt, uncle, cousin and her kids had come to mumbai for a wedding and extended their stay with us.

Spicy Veggies in Zero Oil { Chow Chow }

People commonly assume 'diet food' is boring and bland. But it is not true at all. Of course, the use of a lot of oil and butter brings out the flavour in the masalas and makes Indian food tastier, but there are quite a few tasty and spicy vegetables that can be made with less or zero oil.

The recipe I am going to share is one such recipe, with potatoes, french beans and carrots in a spicy

Penne Alfredo; with a twist

I am big BIG pasta fan.

Pasta in any form, Penne, spaghetti, macaroni, red sauce, white sauce, Aglio e olio.....so you get the idea.. I L-O-V-E pasta! I even married my husband because he is a chef specialising in continental...hehe... just kidding.

Collected my bib for the SCMM Dream run yesterday. Since I was in BKC, decided to visit  one of my favourite places for lunch, California Pizza Kitchen. I have been pretty good this whole week with the food and had promised myself a treat. So took this chance. :)

CPK's Kaprowkai pizza.
The picture just doesn't do justice to the pizza. It is just awesome!

I am getting forgetful these
days. Wonder if it has anything to do with the impending 31st
birthday. Lol, just kidding. Isn’t the 30’s the new 20’s these days?

But the truth is that my
forgetfulness stems from the fact that I am trying to juggle so many things at
the same time. Of course I have the bragging rights, that I am a full time
working mom who manages work, a toddler, the house,
