Adelfo Cerame - Road to The Wheelchair Nationals '12: Three Basic Tweaks to Rid Yourself of Nasty Body Water. Plus: Three New Purus Labs Supps in My Stash!

Image 1: More often than not it's simply water that is keeping you from achieving the physique of your dreams. A profound morning vs. evening difference is characteristic of water, not fat being the last hurdle.
I don't know about you, but for me Thursday has become one of my favorite days, here at the SuppVersity. Not only can I take the seat of the almighty editor-in-chief and let other people do the work for me, I also get to read an interesting and enlightening blogpost on my own blog - sounds good, hah? Specifically, if - just like today - the topic your author blogs about is one that is actually dear and near to your heart... and I can tell you retaining superfluous and unattractive body water in the lower abdomen area is something I have involuntarily become an expert in. Hitherto, I have yet not found a way to keep the vein that is showing on my lower abs in the morning "in place" for the whole day. It appears the "water pressure" is just too high ;-) All jokes aside, if you are just about as curious if Adelfo has found the solution to this nasty problem, I guess I will not keep you in suspense any longer and hand over to the pro...

Test, test, test, ... 1, 2, 3, ... how lean can I possibly be?

You think you could use some advice on your own training, diet and supplementation regimen and want it from someone who obviously knows what it takes to build muscle and lose fat? You can reach out to Adelfo via Facebook.
Basically 11 more days till my 12-week mark and I decided to treat Christmas day like it would be the big day of the show. It's going to be a test run of how I would approach the real thing! Practice makes perfect! Just like practicing for a big football or basketball game you must practice to prepare for the stage! I practice my posing and posing routines… and yes this means flexing your muscles in front of the mirror like a total douchebag! Well I guess it’s only douchebag- esque, if you do it at your local gym where you can be seen by other gym goers. So for me, I just find a private place where it’s just me, myself and I and get going. Posing will also help get your physique harder and may even help flush out the subcutaneous water in between your skin and muscle. The obvious benefits of being able to perform better on the stage aside, there is thus also a direct physical benefit, even those of you who are not competing will appreciate. Another thing I will have to play around with in the next two weeks are my re-feeds. I need to figure out how to time them in order to "peak", i.e. to be in the best shape possible, right before the show. In that, looking my best, means being the leanest, the driest and fullest, I can look after a reefed.

Hydration, dehydration, superhydration and simple bloating

One of the nastiest problems with peaking right at a bodybuilding show relates to the issue of water rentention. You obviously have to get rid of all subcutaneous water, to show off what Samir Bannout aptly labeled your "onion skin"... or to put it more simply, be the most "shredded" guy on stage. That being said, I have in the past often had issues with the water in my lower abdomen and my sides. The "bloating" in these problem areas usually goes away in the last month or weeks of my prep. And while time obviously is a major factor, here, I have hitherto found that cutting back the variety of my diet and sticking to meat and low- to no-starch veggies like cucumbers, cabbage, asparagus, broccoli, and zucchini is a surefire (and actually the only) way to get rid of these last milliliters of water. For this ends, even my beloved full-fat dairy products (milk, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cheeses) will have to disappear from my meal plan.

As you can see in the picture on the left hand side (image 2, left), I am holding WAY too much water for my liking. The picture on the right goes to show you what my personal benchmark is looking like (image 2, right)! I do yet hope to be able to outdo my own '09 form and go into the 2012 Wheelchair Nationals with what the bros would probably call a "sick" & "disgustingly conditioned" midsection ;-)

Three bullet proof tweaks to lessen the water-load

And though I hope not to have to resort to any tricks to get stage ready, I am planning to use the time to the 12-week mark to experiment with a few tweaks which will accelerate contemporary water loss and will enable me to lay out an appropriate strategy for the day(s) right before the contest:
  • Stick to mainly lean meats (like chicken breast, tilapia and grass-fed beef) and light filling, low calorie, low carb, alkaline veggies like cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage, and zucchinis. Once I cut the starchy carbs completely, I start to notice my physique get leaner and grainier.
  • Drink lots of water! I usually pound like 2 gallons/day leading up to the big day. Drinking lots of water and keeping a steady amount flowing through you, the whole day, will help you flush out that unwanted water.
  • Drink some green tea everyday. Green tea also helps with expelling excess water - and, if you have been following the SuppVersity news, this week, you will also know that it can actually help you lose weight or at least stave off the potential holiday weight gain.
  • Image 4: The recipes are getting simpler, during the test run: Lean meat + no-starch veggie = Lean and mean physique and constantly lowered water retention... no dairy, no peanut butter, no... well, you know ;-)
    Have a carb load/re-feed day. A re-feed day, not cheat day! There’s somewhat of a difference… a cheat day implies that you eat whatever the f#ck you want from a combination of carbs and grease! This would obviously replenish your glycogen stores, but it’s a bit uncontrolled because of the excess fat that you are most likely taking in as well, when you "cheat" like that. A re-feed is where you are replenishing your glycogen stores, so you want to mainly focus on carbs, while you keep fat intake minimal and protein intake moderate to the same. Re-feeds help with getting rid of water because carbs draw in water. And on re-feeds, when you’re lean enough and glycogen is depleted (from long periods of low-carb dieting), your muscles will scavenge and fight for every carb you put in your body to refill glycogen stores (muscle stores) and at the same time, the excess subcutaneous water left in the body will piggy back on the carbohydrates and into the muscles… Well at least that’s what I think. Lol! 
Although these three "tricks" sound pretty basic (which in fact they are), they have helped me time and again in my preps to achieve that bone-dry physique.  

But remember: These are only temporary, NOT permanent fixes. These little schemes will not help you lose weight or get lean. They will just help enhances your physique when you already have at a certain degree of body fat percentage and leanness. Shortcuts and quick fixes don’t get you the physique you want! Dedication, consistency, & balance do.

Exciting new and reliable staples in my supplement arsenal

Via Dr. Andro's contacts on the Mind & Muscle Forum, I got in contact with the guys from Purus Labs, who have been on the look out for people to test some of their newest products. All I have to do is to run an honestlog and track my progress with how I am getting along with their products - sounds fair to me, especially because I think that the combination of D-Pol, Recycle and Slinshot will make a good addition to my regimen.
  • D-Pol (D-aspartic acid):

    When and how
    ? Will be taken early in the morning on an empty stomach to avoid competition with other amino acids for absorption.

    For what purpose? With its proven effects LH secretion, the d-aspartic acid will hopefully help increasing my testosterone levels, which can obviously take a beating whenever you are dieting, because your body is trying to preserve body fat, so it shuts all other systems down in order to tend to more important matters like starvation.
  • Recycle (natural test booster):  

    When and how
    ? Will be taken in the afternoon & evening, one serving pre-workout and another serving later in the evening. 

    For what purpose
    ? Recycle appears to be a good match for the d-aspartic acid in D-Pol, as it helps increase testosterone via a different pathway and will keep the aromatization into estrogen at bay and help reduce SHBG and thusly "free" the otherwise bound (additional) testosterone of their carrier protein. And though, I have not felt any low test-issues ever since I began intermittent fasting, I am hoping that the addition of the test booster will help with maintaining more of  my strength.
  • Slinshot (glucose uptake promoter)

    When and how
    ? Will be taken during my carb loads/ re-feed days with my biggest carbohydrate meals

    For what purpose
    ? I hope that it will help shuttle the carbs into the muscle more readily, especially on the non-post-workout meals, when the glucose-uptake sensitizing effect of my workout abates.
Since I just started running these supplements on Tuesday, I obviously cannot really say anything about their efficacy till next Thursday, but as you will remember I started two other supps in the post Thanksgiving week and promised to let you know how things are going. Remember their names? Liquid Clenbutrx & Anadraulic State?
  • Image 4: The best fat burner is useless if you have not dialed in your diet.
    Clenbutrx: So far the only significant thing I’m noticing is the shitty taste and the awesome energy it gives me throughout the day! As for increasing my metabolism and fat loss… eeeehhhhh maybe! I mean I don’t doubt that I’m probably burning an extra 100-200 calories by taking this stuff, just like all fat burners do, but I just don’t notice anything significant to say otherwise. Plus it’s very difficult to differentiate what’s doing what? Is it the fat burner? Or the IF diet? A combo of both? Who knows? I mean I’ve already seen what an IF diet can do on it’s own without a fat burner. But I have yet to see what a fat burner can do on its own without a diet… something to think about there aye?... I should be done in 2 weeks so I’ll give the final verdict on this stuff when it’s
    finished.
  • Anadraulic state: I’d have to say it’s working! My bench press is increasing little by little with every training session. My body feels and looks fuller and I have been getting really good pumps at the gym. This stuff is keeping me strong while I diet down, and I have also become accustomed to the taste. It’s really starting to taste like strawberry lemonade! Lol.
Assuming that the combination of those five is not going to kill me within the coming week, you will get an update on my (hopefully) "supplementally enhanced" progress next Thursday. For the time being, I would yet like to remind everyone that no supplement is going to save you, when you have not got the basics right and those were, are and will always be training and nutrition. So, if you have not already gotten those straight today, it's about time for you to either cook or get to the gym, now ;-)

VPX Pre- & Post-Workout Nutrition Gets "Sponsored" Scientific Approval: +4% Lean Mass, -6% Body Fat, +13% Upper and +21% Lower Body Strength in 29 Days

This is one of those cases, where I cannot decide whether I should applaud VPX or just shake my head... the scientist in me says: "Hey, you know how that is - with a research grant from the government cutting edge science is impossible, especially if you want to investigate something as 'profane' as building muscle". The cynic skeptic, on the other hand, whispers: "Come on, what results would you expect, if the study was financed by the producer of the supplement under scrutiny?" I guess I will applaud skeptically and exercise special caution in my analysis of the latest study from the Department of Health and Performance at Baylor University (Willoughby. 2011).

As in previous studies (Willoughby. 2007; Willoughby. 2009), Darryn S. Willoughby and his colleagues availed themselves of a buckload of VPX supplements and recruited 19 previously recreationally active, yet untrained (*) men with an average age of 22.8 +/-4.67 years, a height of 179.5 +/-6.38 cm and a total body mass of 79.1 +/-16.13 kg for another study into the effects of two supplements, which are supposed to "advance you to the next level of fitness" (VPX. 2011). Strength and body composition (body fat measured reliably by DEXA, not body-impedance), venous blood sampling and muscle biopsies were performed on day 0 and day 29 of the 4-week study period, in the course of which the participants underwent a standardized resistance training protocol (upper-/lower-body split, 4x à week), which mirrored the one that had been used in Willoughby. 2009 already (*).

The bodybuilding-type beginner 2x split training regimen is unquestionably a huge plus of the study (cf. figure 1). Performed twice a weak, this is what real world training would look like and so that it stands out of question that the results of the study will translate into practice - at least for everyone who has not touched a dumbbell more than thrice a week within the last 12 and abstained from all sorts of performance enhancing supplements and drugs within the last 3 months (*).

The NO Shotgun approach to protein NO SyntheSize???

More important than the identical training regimen was yet obviously the supplementation protocol, to which the participants were assigned in a double-blind randomization process (on a side note: "double-blind" means that not only the subjects, but the scientists, as well, did not know which participants received the placebo and which ones the VPX products). While half of the subjects consumed a maltodextrose placebo (27g pre, 27g post workout), the subjects in the "NOSS" group consumed the same amount of NO Shotgun and NO SyntheSize as their pre- and posworkout supplement, respectively. Now, as the names imply, both supplements are intended to increase nitric oxide production and protein synthesis, yet with a focus on the former in NO Shotgun that is loaden with arginine and a heap of stimulants and a focus on the latter in NO SyntheSize, the composition of which is pretty similar (cf. figure 2), yet without the "Redline Energy & Meltdown Fat Burning Technology" ;-)

Although there were no specifically dietary guidelines, the research did at least collect some nutritional data based on a 4-day questionnaire all participants had to answer at the beginning and end of the study. While there was a slight reduction in the total caloric intake in the carb group (interestingly mainly from carbohydates), neither the intra-group changes, nor the inter-group differences reached statistical significance.

More muscle, less fat! Trainee, what more can you ask for?

That there were no differences is yet something you cannot say of the changes in body composition the study participants underwent in the course of this 28-day intervention.

As a passing view of the relative changes (compared to baseline) in figure 3 show, the NOSS group (receiving NO Shotgun prior and NO SyntheSize post workout) registered significantly more pronounced elevations in fat free mass (p<.023 indicates that the chances that this was sheer coincidence are 23%) and - contrary to the carbohydrate group - lost -6% of their body fat, while the carb eaters added another 2% of adipose tissue to their love-handles.

Interestingly, the lean mass increase went hand in hand with likewise (statistically) significantly greater (p-values see figure 4) increases in both upper (+13% vs. +1%) and lower (+21% vs. +11%) strength in the subjects in the NO Shotgun + NO SyntheSize groups.
* you may have wondered what all the asterisks in the previous paragraphs meant... well, they indicate specificities in the study design detractors may call "precautions that ensure that the VPX supplements are sitting pretty" ... I mean the exact same supplementation protocol performed on a bunch of veteran bodybuilders would probably not have elicited any measurable effects on body composition - keep that in mind when you interpret the results.
Now, it obviously should not surprise you that the protein (and leucine) loaden and creatine, beta-alanine spiked workout supplements outperform simple sugar water. It is thus more interesting to take another look at the data from the 2009 "NO Shotgun only"-study, Willoughby et al. have done (Willoughby. 2009). On the exact same training protocol, yet with only 27g of NO Shotgun or placebo 30min preworkout, the participants lost less body fat (-1.21%), but gained the exact same ~4% of lean mass and comparable increases in bench press and leg press 1RM (+8.82% and +18.4%, respectively).

Scientifically proven ingredients make scientifically proven products

I leave it up to you whether or not the results of this study will influence your next supplement purchase - after all, even the VPX guys will be aware that their supplements are not so unique that intelligent people like you would not be able to identify the key ingredients in their products (EAAs, hydrolized protein, creatine, beta alanine, some workout-boosting stimulants, etc.) and realize that there are way more than those two products which would probably have produced identically (within statistical margins) results, if, and here we've come full circle, if their respective manufacturers had the money and the balls to do scientific studies on their products.

Post CHO or PRO Supps for Workout Regeneration? VPX' Protein Rush or Plain Gatorade? I'd Love Sponsored Supp Research, If it Ever Produced Really Meaningful Results

It goes without saying - for a true gymrat and physical culturist, there can be only one ideal post-workout regeneration beverage... but it looks as if it was not among the contestants.
No, I am not going to tell you another time about my mixed feelings wrt to the VPX sponsored studies. I mean, let's face it - at least they do conduct research on their products and with the study at hand even helped a PhD student to complete her thesis.

For the latter, Shannan Lynch recruited 15 male subjects (31.7 ± 6.2 yrs old) who had been exercising at least five times per week for at least an hour for a year or more, and have at least one year of strength training experience. He grabbed a couple of packs of VPX Protein Rush (I suppose he rather got them via mail ;-) and bought a ton of Gatorade Orange to serve as a control in what was supposed to be an investigation into the relative effects on fitness performance indices (agility T-test, push-up test, and 40-yard sprint) of the said supplements after exhaustive exercise.

The exhaustive exercise protocol we are talking about, here, consisted of a standardized warm-up and a high-intensity resistance training workout for 2 min. In those 2 min, the participans had do perform as many rounds of

  • dumbbell push-presses
  • squats (dumbbells at sides)
  • dumbbell push-ups
  • and repeat until the 2 min are over
    for 8 reps each (weight was 25% of 1RM). After 5-6 rounds (1min rest in between) the scientist added all reps up and compared them to the follow up trial with the other supplement (note: as you would expect no difference was observed). After the HIRT (high intensity resistance training) protocol, the subjects consumed their recovery drinks, waited for 2h, executed a couple of performance tests and filled a hand full of questionnaires.

    The results of these tests and questionnaires (see figure 1) clearly indicate ... well, what to they indicate? If anything I should say that it looks as if Gatorade clearly prevailed. But didn't the abstract say:
    "When considering the collective physical effects of the agility T-test, push-up and sprint tests, a complex protein beverage may provide a recovery advantage as it relates to repeated-bout performance compared to an iCHO-only beverage." (Lynch. 2013)
    Well, I guess the author would better have printed the word "MAY" bolder than bold. After all even Lynch has to concede that
    • according to the paired sample t-tests (data in figure 1) "the results indicate no significant mean differences between VPX and iCHO [Gatorade]" (Lynch. 2013) for the rate of perceived exertion and
    • none of the statistical inter-group tests yielded "singular, main effects for any of the performance or RPE tests such that the mean measurement was not significantly different for VPX than for iCHO"
    So we would in fact have gotten a null result if that was all the statistical shenanigan we had. Luckily the statistical "crockpod analysis", i.e. a repeated-measures multivariate analysis (RM-MANOVA) "yielded a significant interaction effect for the three performance variables" on an inter-individual level (p = 0.002; observed power = 0.97).

    You don't think this is convincing? Me neither, the main reason I would still advice not to stick to carbs alone after a workout is simple: Most of you are probably not interested in their performance 2h after the workout, but rather in the long-term effects on their body composition, strength & workout capacity and for all of of those bulk whey protein would be a preferable (and much cheaper source) than any of the supplements used in the study.

    If you still insist to spike that protein shake of yours up a bit, here are a couple of suggestions that come to mind...

      creatine - something like 5g/day; think about boosting the absorption with baking soda,
    • taurine - maybe another 3-6g, but better only 2g per serving,
    • glycerol - 20-80g to rehydrate or in hope of the ergogenic effects from the Petlar study (learn more), 
    • beta alanine - 1.6g/day; take it cyclically, i.e. 6 weeks on 2x800mg to saturate the carnosine levels, at least 4 weeks off to avoid burning money - fuller than full is not possible
    • glutamine - 10g+ to feed and "seal the gut", help replenish liver glycogen and decrease the catabolism of other aminos (learn more)
    • bananas - 1-3 depending on whether you are cutting or bulking and what your current macro intake looks like (click here, to rid yourself of fruit-o- & banan-o-phobia ;-) 
     ... and the rest of the stuff you can read about here at the SuppVersity on a daily basis. I mean, if www.suppversity.com was your homepage, you should be able to add at least another six supps & foods by the means of which you could complete the dirty post-workout dozen.

    Cod Liver Oil vs. URTI. 2x Higher Fat Oxidation W/ Optimal Workout Timing, Aggressive Diabesity Control, Seaweed & Breast Cancer and NO Supplements Superior to Sugar

    Self-proclaimed experts will say: "No cod liver! It's poison! It has way too much vitamin A... you better pop a kg of vitamin D pills if you want to do something for your health." Really? How do you explain the results of the Robertson study, then?
      "Grandma was right" - That's if you will the statement of the week - a statement that is verified by the SuppVersity Figure of the Week which is p = 0.04 and describes the probability that the association between the consumption of cod liver oil and a decreased occurrence of upper respiratory tract infects (URTI) Swedish researchers observed in a cohort of 6350 middle-aged and elderly participants in the Tromsø Study 6, of which Robertsen et al. had actually expected that it would finally confirm the protective effects of high(er) vitamin D levels / intake against respiratory disease. As it turned out, however, neither vitamin D (25-OHD), nor the intake of fish, n-3 capsules or vitamin and/or mineral supplements were significantly associated. Shamed be he who thinks of vitamin A now ;-)
      • 2-Fold Increase in Fat Oxidation W/ Correct Workout Timing (Darvakh. 2013) -- If we assume that you want to burn the maximal amount of fat during a workout, timing could be a more important factor than previously thought.

        In a recent study from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in Iran the maximal rate of fatty acid oxidation in healthy, but untrained subjects was 2x higher in the afternoon compared to both the morning and evening conditions.

        What's likewise interesting to observe is the fact that the exercise intensity that was required to achieve maximal fatty acid oxidation was higher in the morning. No wonder that the total fatty acid oxidation per minute in all three trials was the highest, when the participants worked out in the morning!
        Bottom line: It's not just the missing dietary control, but also the mere idea that "burning fat for fuel" during a workout would have beneficial effects on long-term weight loss - let alone help you shed weight, when you are not in a caloric deficit that renders the results of the study at hand interesting, but more or less irrelevant. My personal advice would thus be: Work out, whenever you can muster the time and whenever you got the choice, base your decision on when to work out on performance measures, not results from studies like these (learn more about planning your workouts here).
      • Is the time ripe for aggressive diabesity cures?! (Belsare. 2010) -- Everyone who has listened to the Wednesday episode of Super Human Radio, when Carl Lanore interviewed the Indian researcher Milind G. Watve, co-author of the paper at hand, will already be familar with the concept:

        Physical aggression is known to increase secretion of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in anticipation of injuries and EGF is important in pancreatic beta cell regeneration too. In anticipation of injuries aggression related hormones also facilitate angiogenesis and angiogenesis dysfunction is the root cause of a number of co-morbidities of insulin resistance syndrome.

        Reduced injury proneness typical of ‘diplomat’ life style would also reorient the immune system resulting into delayed wound healing on the one hand and increased systemic inflammation on the other. Diabetes is negatively associated with physically aggressive behaviour."
        These and the unquestionably striking associations the researchers collected in the tabular overview I used as a basis for table 1 to the right of this post (you read it a follows: arrows indicate up-/down-regulation or pos-/neg. correlation; "A"/"B" causation / reverse causation shown in A1/B1 = mutant or knockout experiment; A2/B2 = pharmacological/physiological exp. based on infusion or use of agonists/antagonists); C indicates only statistical association w/out direct evidence for causality), would unquestionably justify the hypothesis:
        "[...]that suppression of physical aggression is the major behavioural cue for the development of metabolic syndrome."
        However, despite the fact that "preliminary trials of behavioural intervention indicate that games and exercises involving physical aggression reduce systemic inflammation and improve glycemic control" - the same is true for "unagressive" types of exercise, so that I can't but vouch my doubts about the causative nature of aggression in this game of convenient laziness.

        In the end, I am with Dr. Watve and his Indian colleagues: the non-pharmacological and in my humble opinion only viable solution to our problem are lifestyle changes - and as far as the "aggressiveness" is concerned, I guess, we'd just have to enforce these more aggressively. At least as aggressively as the Australians are leading their "war against" cigarette smoking - maybe a "war against" and not as a quest for revenue-generating pharmacological solutions to behavioral problems as we are still doing it by now.
      • The breast cancer protective effects of seaweed - proof of principle (Teas. 2013) -- Researchers from the South Carolina Cancer Center at the University of South Carolina state in their recently published paper in the Journal of Applied Physiology that the consumption of seaweed (Undaria) in the form of a capped supplement (5g/day, total) decreases the urinary human urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) concentrations in15 healthy postmenopausal women (5 had no history of breast cancer, 5 were breast cancer surivors) during a 3-month single-blinded placebo controlled clinical trial.
        What to make of these results? With the well-established increase in uPAR in post-menopausal and it's highly significant correlation with unfavorable breast cancer outcomes. The scientists argue that this controlled experiment would provide the hitherto missing "proof of principle" to confirm the epidemiologically observed anti-breast cancer effects of seaweed.
      • Pre- & Post-workout supplementation with VPX' flagship products NO Shotgun & Synthesize promote fat free gains more than pure sugar (Ormsbee. 2013) -- Actually I did not even want to post this study, but it's so hilariously funny that I could not resist informing you about the marginal edge the provision of the VPX pre- & post-workout supplements NO Shotgun & NO Synthesize had in a sponsored study from the Florida State University that's been published in provisional form on Friday afternoon.

        When the researchers analyzed the effects the provision of the said supplements before and after each of the workouts the 29 healthy resistance trained men had compared to a maltodextrin [yeah, that's protein, BCAA, creatine, caffeine, beta alanine & more in the "multi-ingredient performance supplements (MIPS) vs. plain sugar as "control" placebo)] they found

          cortisol  concentrations  or  body  fat
        • significant decrease in body fat in both groups (mean ± SD; MIPS: -1.2 ± 1.2%; Placebo: -0.9  ± 1.1%), android fat (MIPS: -1.8 ± 2.1%; Placebo: -1.6 ± 2.0%), and gynoid fat (MIPS: -1.3 ± 1 .6%; Placebo: -1.0 ± 1.4%) and *drum rolls please* 
        • a  group × time interaction  for the increases in fat-free mass which were significantly  higher (4.2% vs. 1.9%) after the ingestion of the kitchen sink supplements compared to the 21g of pure maltodextrin
        What? Yeah, I know that VPX has had a very similar study done in the past (read up on the details, here) and obviously nobody read my comment back in the days that it's nice to spend some money to prove that your supplements works, but basically useless if the study protocol is designed in a way that ensures that your product will come as the more or, as in this case, rather less glorious winner.

        Bottom line: I wonder when the first supplement company dares doing a study comparing their product to a basic comination of creatine + whey and a cup of coffee before the workouts... what? Oh, you suspect that this could hamper their sales? Well, I guess you could be right.
